EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering and Retrieval) is practically a system which hosts filings of different important stock related data of companies, which can be checked by the investors. One can easily have access online to these documents free of charge. For example, such a document is the Statement of Changes in Beneficial Ownership, where different facts will be displayed, such as: title of securities, transaction dates, transaction code, deemed execution date, securities acquired or disposed of, amount of securities beneficially owned following reported transactions, ownership form (direct or indirect), and the nature of indirect beneficial ownership (by limited partnerships in most of the cases).
