On the US market, securities are being traded most often on one of the following stock exchanges: the American Stock Exchange (also known as AMEX) which actually is now running under the name of NYSE (New York Stock Exchange); and the NASDAQ (National Association of Securities ad Dealers Automated Quotation), which is considered being the largest such stock exchange on the US market.
