Pay date
What is pay date?

Usually dividends on stocks or interests on bonds are paid on a yearly basis. This means that on that day the company mails the percentage of the yearly profit to which each investor is entitled to. Though only those investors get this check who had in their possession the stocks on the record day, if they have bought it a day later then they will be eligible only on the next year.
