What is a stock ticker?

The stock ticker is used to display information about current stock prices and volumes. When the stock market us up then there’s a rolling information bar which displays the symbols of the stock and it’s current price. Even though is fully digital it is still called as a ticker, back in the days there was a scrolling paper tape used to display the mentioned information.
