What is a U.S. Treasury note?

The U.S. treasury note is also known as the note or the T-note. This note is issued by the government and it has the full faith and credit behind it. The maturity date of this note is between a year and ten years and main attraction is that it’s not taxable so an investor doesn’t have to pay nor local nor state taxes. It’s considered to be the safest investment and these securities are thought as risk-free rate of return. This securities are actively traded on the secondary markets.
